My System just crashed while i was busy updating

Message on screen " exciting diagnostic program " and " closing program "
Any idea what the f%$# is going on with this thing ? I worked succesfully on a Merc this morning and after this ran software update and it then just stalled. Tried to connect to a Porsche and it closes the software as soon as I want to diagnose.
